Kim graduated from Fort Hays State University with her B.A. in English and a minor in Political Science in 2004. She then attended law school at Washburn University School of Law and graduated with her J.D. in 2007 with a certificate in Family Law. Kim worked at Kansas Legal Services (focusing on family law and protection from abuse/stalking), Coffman & Campbell (focusing on family law), and Franklin County Attorney's Office (focusing on child in need of care, juvenile offender, care & treatment, and traffic).
